Congratulations to our PYP5 students, who this week marked the completion of their Primary Years Programme journey. It has been a year of real depth and genuine challenge, and they have risen to it with maturity, creativity, and heart.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms Andrea Meneghello and Ms Francesca Rigon, who have supported and inspired this group every step of the way alongside our specialist teachers Ms Silvia Bertinato, Mr Dimitri Lago, Mr Filippo Rinaldi, Ms Davide Gusatto, Ms Noelia Fernandez e Ms Vanessa De Macedo. Your dedication to these students – as learners and as people – has made a lasting difference.

Thanks also to Ms Stefania Pasquali and Ms Asli Celik for their leadership of the PYP throughout the year.

MYP awaits: and we cannot wait to see what you do with it.

A huge congratulations to each and every one of them: for their curiosity, their laughter, and the courage it takes to show up and learn something new every day. Ms Ashley Ward and Ms Ana Casapu have created a warm, nurturing space where every child has felt safe to grow, explore, and shine.

Reception class…. YOU ROCK!

Colour, music, and good conversation set the tone for a joyful afternoon. Students explored interactive stations with colours and bracelets, discovered LGBTQ+ cultural and pop icons, and had the chance to sign an Ally pledge – a simple but meaningful commitment to stand by others and make our school a place where everyone feels seen.

By the end of the day, 52 students and 10 members of staff had signed the pledge.

No prior knowledge was required, and none was expected. This was simply a day about curiosity, kindness, and the belief that every person deserves to belong – values that connect naturally to who we are as an IB community and as an international school.

A warm thank you to the student volunteers who made it happen, and to the PTA for their support.

The front green areas have been entirely reimagined: approximately 160 square metres of refurbished surfaces across the pergola and seating zones, more than 150 linear metres of treated fir wood edging, a weed-control membrane, selected gravel and a new jasmine hedge with dedicated irrigation along the entrance perimeter. A natural green barrier that improves privacy, visual wellbeing and a sense of welcome.

For our youngest students new play areas arrive, designed to offer diverse experiences: a sandpit with a multifunctional cover that doubles as seating or work surface, the Beaver’s Hideout structure for symbolic and social play, the Robinia Agility Trail for balance and climbing, a Four Square area and a relaxation zone with picnic tables.

On safety, the outdoor Early Years area is now fully enclosed with a new fence and controlled pedestrian access; in the front garden a 5-metre ball-stop net has been installed; the synthetic football pitch features a new shock-absorbing perimeter curb made from non-toxic, antibacterial and anti-mould materials.

And then there is the Quantum Lab, an evolution of our STEAM Lab, becoming the innovation hub of the campus. The first section is already underway and will bring into our classrooms the Unitree Go2 robot and Dobot Magician Basic, image recognition activities, predictive algorithms and IoT projects.

Finally, the gymnasium: new partition walls, a dedicated changing room, an organised storage area and a new professional, competition-grade volleyball system.

Vicenza cambia volto: outdoor, sicurezza e un nuovo modo di imparare

A Vicenza il nuovo anno scolastico si presenta con una promessa concreta: trasformare il campus in un ambiente sempre più completo, dinamico e capace di rispondere ai bisogni di chi lo vive ogni giorno. Lo facciamo per fasi, con un approccio strutturato che guarda lontano. La prima si concentra sugli spazi esterni e sull’ingresso, mentre nei prossimi anni amplieremo gli interventi alle aree posteriori, con un’attenzione specifica ai più piccoli.

Le aree verdi frontali sono state completamente ripensate: circa 160 metri quadrati di superfici riqualificate tra zona pergola e area panchine, oltre 150 metri lineari di bordature in legno di abete trattato, una membrana anti-erbacce, ghiaia selezionata e una nuova siepe di gelsomino con irrigazione dedicata lungo il perimetro d’ingresso. Una barriera verde naturale che migliora privacy, benessere visivo e accoglienza.

Per i più piccoli arrivano nuove aree gioco progettate per esperienze diversificate: una sabbiera con copertura multifunzionale che diventa seduta o piano di appoggio, la struttura Beaver’s Hideout per il gioco simbolico e relazionale, il Robinia Agility Trail per equilibrio e arrampicata, un’area Four Square e uno spazio relax con tavoli picnic.

Sul fronte sicurezza, l’area Early Years è ora completamente delimitata con nuova recinzione e accesso pedonale controllato; nel giardino frontale è stata installata una rete ferma-palloni di cinque metri; sul campo da calcio sintetico un cordolo ammortizzante in materiali atossici, antibatterici e antimuffa.

E poi il Quantum Lab, evoluzione del nostro STEAM Lab, che diventa il fulcro dell’innovazione del campus. La prima sezione è già in fase di realizzazione e porterà in aula Robot Unitree Go2 e Dobot Magician Basic, riconoscimento di immagini, algoritmi predittivi e progetti IoT.

Infine, la palestra: nuove pareti divisorie, uno spogliatoio dedicato, un’area di stoccaggio ordinata e un nuovo impianto professionale di pallavolo da competizione.

We are proud to announce that Mr Davide Gusatto, our PYP Digital Design Teacher, has been selected to take part in the MIT Nord Anglia Teacher Professional Development Week 2026, an intensive, internationally focused programme designed for educators across the Nord Anglia network who are pushing boundaries in STEAM education.

The initiative brings together teachers from schools around the world to explore MIT-inspired approaches to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, combining hands-on challenges with collaborative reflection and cross-school exchange. It is exactly the kind of experience that makes teaching at an international school so compelling.

Davide shared his thoughts ahead of the week:

“I am very excited to take part in the MIT Nord Anglia Teacher Professional Development Week 2026. The goal of this experience is to explore MIT-inspired STEAM challenges and innovative teaching approaches that can later be brought into the classroom here at H-FARM. One of the aspects I value most is the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from schools around the world, sharing ideas, projects, and best practices. These will be intensive and inspiring days, where I will have the opportunity both to share my expertise in robotics, electronics, digital design, and hands-on STEAM education, and to return with new perspectives, future goals, and international collaborations that can further enrich our school community.”

We could not agree more. This is what belonging to a global network of schools truly looks like: teachers growing alongside their students, bringing the world back into the classroom.

A small note worth mentioning: the shared “H” between our school and H Tennis Club is purely a coincidence! The two are entirely separate organisations, now brought together by a shared belief in what sport can do for young people.

And that shared belief is exactly what this partnership is about.

This special initiative is part of another wonderful year of meaningful Service as Action experiences, guided by Ms Beatrice Bagnara, where students had the opportunity to develop responsibility, collaboration and community spirit through hands-on projects.

From creativity to teamwork, initiatives like these reflect an important part of the IB journey at H-FARM International School: learning to make a positive impact through action, empathy and participation.

While this was the last bake sale of the year, the Service as Action programme will continue until the end of the school year with the Book Club, involving a variety of activities connected to reading and storytelling, including reading sessions organised by MYP students for PYP classes.

Well done to everyone involved for ending the bake sale season on such a sweet and meaningful note!

The trip included a visit to an exhibition showcasing Escher’s iconic artworks, followed by an immersive virtual reality experience that brought many of his impossible worlds to life. One of the highlights for students was experiencing Relativity and its famous staircases both as a physical artwork and within an interactive digital environment.

Escher’s work provides a powerful bridge between creative and computational thinking, linking concepts such as recursion, tessellation, symmetry, geometry, and representations of infinity – ideas that continue to influence mathematics, design, and computer science today.

The experience encouraged students to think critically about how different disciplines intersect and demonstrated how creativity and logic can work together to inspire new perspectives and innovative thinking.

Following a recent professional development experience at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre in Reggio Emilia attended by Ms Paola Montini and Ms Lily Trivisonno (teachers in our Early Years Unit), Ms Montini shared with us a personal reflection on the values and inspiration behind the internationally renowned Reggio Emilia Approach.

From the 7th to the 9th of May, Miss Lily and I, Miss Paola, had the privilege of taking part in a Study Group on the Reggio Emilia Approach at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre in Reggio Emilia. It was a truly inspiring professional development opportunity, for which we feel deeply grateful.

The Reggio Emilia Approach is not simply a teaching method, but a philosophy of education based on the image of the child as capable, curious, creative, and full of potential. Founded by the visionary educator Loris Malaguzzi after the Second World War, this approach values children’s “hundred languages” — the many ways they express, explore, think, and learn.

During the Study Group, we witnessed how children are placed genuinely at the centre of learning. Through relationships, collaboration, creativity, and hands-on experiences, children are encouraged to “think with their hands” and express themselves through many forms. The environment, the community, and the collaboration between teachers, pedagogistas, atelieristas, and families all play a fundamental role in supporting each child’s development.

What touched us most deeply was the strong sense of respect for childhood and the belief that children are born with rights, potential, and endless possibilities. It feels even more special to know that, in these very days, Catherine, Princess of Wales is visiting the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre and its schools, highlighting once again the worldwide recognition of this extraordinary educational philosophy.

We return from this experience enriched both professionally and personally, carrying with us a renewed inspiration for our role as teachers. As Malaguzzi beautifully said: “Invece il cento c’è” — “No way. The hundred is there.”
