Once again this year, H-FARM International School Vicenza hosted IB Night, an evening that opened the doors of our classrooms to families and invited them to experience what their children live every day.
More than a presentation, it was a real immersion into the philosophy and practice of the International Baccalaureate (IB) — the educational framework at the heart of our school.
As our Head of School Alessandra Chiovati explained:
“Moments like IB Night are valuable opportunities for families to experience firsthand the IB approach. By taking part in workshops and activities, parents can better understand not only what their children are learning, but also how they are learning — through inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking. These encounters create a solid bridge between school and home.”

During the evening, parents stepped into the students’ shoes and joined mock lessons across the different IB programmes. They explored the way learning happens at H-FARM — active, hands-on, and rooted in real-world inquiry.
Among the many activities: Phonics and Number Talks for the Primary Years, Robotics and Inquiry-based Italian Grammar workshops, and for older students, Science labs, Music sessions, and discussions on AI for inclusion and university pathways.
The event once again demonstrated the power of the IB learning community, where families and teachers work together to support every student’s growth.
As Francesco Pettinato, MYP Coordinator, reflected:
“The third IB Night was a meaningful experience where parents participated with great enthusiasm. It offered concrete insights into their children’s learning journey and strengthened the sense of trust and collaboration that defines our school.”
IB Night confirmed once again what makes our school unique: a shared commitment to nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and global-mindedness every single day.
