On Friday 24th April at 10:30 am, students will have the opportunity to attend a theatrical performance at the Teatro Astra in Vicenza, organised by the Departments for Youth Policy and Education of the Municipality of Vicenza in collaboration with BILL – Biblioteca della Legalità.
The performance, Mio padre. Appunti sulla guerra civile, is written and performed by Andrea Pennacchi and offers a powerful and reflective exploration of memory, identity, and history.
The story begins with the loss of the protagonist’s father, a moment that brings confusion, disorientation, and the sudden weight of unresolved memories. From this starting point, Pennacchi embarks on a personal journey to rediscover his father’s past as a partisan and prisoner during the war, tracing a path through an Italy marked by conflict and division.
Blending personal narrative with historical reflection, the performance draws a parallel with the figure of Telemachus, as the protagonist searches for meaning, guidance, and a way to “put things right” in the aftermath of both personal and collective upheaval.
This experience offers students a valuable opportunity to engage with themes of history, memory, and identity through the medium of theatre, encouraging both emotional and intellectual reflection.
