MYP1 Trip to Oasi di Casale 1000 563 Sofia Sartori

On Wednesday, 4 November 2026, our MYP1 students will take part in an educational trip to the Oasi WWF Stagni di Casale “Alberto Carta” in Vicenza, a protected natural area where former clay mines have been transformed into ponds, small lakes, and woodlands, providing a thriving habitat for local species and a resting and nesting place for migratory birds.

During a guided visit, students will discover the area’s rich biodiversity and learn about the important conservation and research activities carried out by the WWF. The reserve’s welcome and research centre hosts photographic exhibitions and supports activities such as bird ringing and the analysis of camera-trap footage to monitor local mammals. Students will also learn about conservation efforts to protect native species, including the European pond turtle, from the threats posed by the invasive North American pond turtle.

This experience will offer students a valuable opportunity to explore a local ecosystem, deepen their understanding of biodiversity, and discover how research and conservation initiatives contribute to protecting wildlife and natural habitats.

Students will be accompanied by Mr. Robison e Mr Caviglia. They will depart by bus at 08:30 and are expected to return to school at approximately 12:00. They will have lunch at school as usual.

We look forward to an enriching morning of learning, exploration, and discovery!
